الشركة المستهدفة، التي تُعتبر الأولى عالمياً في مجالها وتُدار من ولاية فرجينيا الأمريكية، أفادت بخسائر مالية هائلة بلغت 610 آلاف دولار أمريكي خلال عام واحد فقط، نتيجة سرقة بيانات وتعطيل خدماتها الإلكترونية.

من الدلتا إلى الشبكة العالمية

بدأت القضية عندما تلقت النيابة العامة المصرية مذكرة رسمية من مكتب المدعي العام في ولاية فرجينيا (EDVA)، عبر مكتب التعاون الدولي في مصر، تتهم فيها الشركة العالمية – التي يُشار إليها في التحقيقات بأنها «مايكروسوفت»، الشركة الأمريكية العملاقة في مجال البرمجيات – خمسة شبان مصريين بتطوير وتشغيل منصة «Phishing-as-a-Service»، وهي خدمة غير قانونية توفر أدوات جاهزة للمهاجمين لإنشاء مواقع مزيفة تسرق بيانات المستخدمين.

أعمار المتهمين تتراوح بين 24 و26 عاماً، وهم مقيمون في مدن الشرقية مثل الزقازيق ومنيا القمح، حيث يُعتقد أنهم طوروا قدراتهم التقنية ذاتياً من خلال الإنترنت دون تدريب رسمي.

240 موقعاً إلكترونياً احتيالياً

وفقاً لتفاصيل التحقيقات، أنشأ المتهمون نحو 240 موقعاً إلكترونياً احتيالياً، استخدمت في استهداف منصات «Microsoft Office 365» مباشرة، مما سمح بسرقة بيانات حساسة لبعض العملاء والموظفين، وتعطيل عمليات الشركة.

الخسائر لم تقتصر على المالية؛ فقد أدت الهجمات إلى تعريض خصوصية آلاف المستخدمين للخطر، وأجبرت الشركة على استثمار ملايين الدولارات في تعزيز أنظمتها الأمنية.

ضبط المتهمين

أحد المتهمين، البالغ من العمر 25 عاماً، كان يدير المنصة الرئيسية من غرفة منزلية بسيطة في الزقازيق، مستخدماً خوادم افتراضية رخيصة لإخفاء نشاطه.

وفي جلسة أولية أمس، قررت المحكمة الاقتصادية بالمنصورة (القضية رقم 10805 لسنة 2024 حصر وارد اقتصادية، المقيدة برقم 1532 لسنة 2025 جنح شئون اقتصادية) تأجيل النظر إلى 8 ديسمبر القادم لاستكمال الفحص الجنائي والاستماع إلى شهود الادعاء.

وأسفرت الجهود الأمنية عن ضبط أربعة من المتهمين في مداهمات سريعة نفذتها نيابة الشؤون الاقتصادية بالتنسيق مع هيئة الرقابة الإدارية وجهاز تنظيم الاتصالات، بينما يظل الخامس هارباً خارج البلاد، ويُعتقد أنه في أوروبا الشرقية.

بين الابتكار والجريمة

دفاع المتهمين، ينفي الاتهامات الجنائية ويصف النشاط بأنه «تجربة تقنية غير ناضجة»، مشيراً إلى أن الشباب كانوا يطورون أدوات أمنية لاختبار الثغرات، لا للاستغلال التجاري، مشيرًا إلى أن هؤلاء الشباب ليسوا مجرمين، بل مواهب مصرية ضاعت في غياب فرص التدريب الرسمي.

من جانبها، أكدت الشركة العالمية في مذكرتها الرسمية أن الهجمات كانت «منظمة وممنهجة»، وطالبت بتعويضات تصل إلى ملايين الدولارات، مع التنسيق الدولي لمكافحة مثل هذه الشبكات.

In a development reflecting the increasing tension between cybercrime and global cybersecurity, the Economic and Money Laundering Prosecution in Egypt referred five young men from Sharqia Governorate to the Economic Court in Mansoura, accusing them of creating and managing fraudulent online platforms that enabled their clients to launch large-scale phishing attacks against the systems of a leading global software company.

The targeted company, which is considered the world's number one in its field and is managed from Virginia, USA, reported massive financial losses amounting to $610,000 within just one year, due to data theft and disruption of its online services.

From the Delta to the Global Network

The case began when the Egyptian Public Prosecution received an official memorandum from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Virginia (EDVA), via the International Cooperation Office in Egypt, accusing the global company – referred to in investigations as "Microsoft," the American giant in software – of five Egyptian young men for developing and operating a "Phishing-as-a-Service" platform, an illegal service that provides ready-made tools for attackers to create fake sites that steal user data.

The ages of the defendants range between 24 and 26 years, and they reside in cities in Sharqia such as Zagazig and Minya al-Qamh, where it is believed they developed their technical skills independently through the internet without formal training.

240 Fraudulent Websites

According to the details of the investigations, the defendants created about 240 fraudulent websites, which were used to directly target "Microsoft Office 365" platforms, allowing for the theft of sensitive data from some clients and employees, and disrupting the company's operations.

The losses were not limited to financial; the attacks also endangered the privacy of thousands of users and forced the company to invest millions of dollars in enhancing its security systems.

Arrest of the Defendants

One of the defendants, aged 25, was managing the main platform from a simple room in Zagazig, using cheap virtual servers to conceal his activities.

In a preliminary session yesterday, the Economic Court in Mansoura (case number 10805 for the year 2024, registered under number 1532 for the year 2025 for Economic Affairs) decided to postpone the hearing to December 8 to complete the forensic examination and hear from prosecution witnesses.

Security efforts resulted in the arrest of four of the defendants in swift raids carried out by the Economic Affairs Prosecution in coordination with the Administrative Control Authority and the Communications Regulatory Authority, while the fifth remains at large outside the country, believed to be in Eastern Europe.

Between Innovation and Crime

The defense of the defendants denies the criminal charges, describing the activity as an "immature technical experiment," indicating that the youth were developing security tools to test vulnerabilities, not for commercial exploitation, asserting that these young people are not criminals, but rather Egyptian talents lost in the absence of formal training opportunities.

For its part, the global company confirmed in its official memorandum that the attacks were "organized and systematic," demanding compensation amounting to millions of dollars, along with international coordination to combat such networks.
