المصدر 7 - تحولت حادثة تأديبية داخل مدرسة خاصة في ولاية ماهاراشترا الهندية إلى مأساة مروّعة، بعدما فارقت طالبة بالصف السادس الحياة إثر تدهور حالتها الصحية عقب إجبارها على تكرار تمرين القرفصاء 100 مرة بسبب وصولها متأخرة إلى الصف، في واقعة أشعلت غضباً واسعاً ودعت السلطات إلى فتح تحقيق عاجل.

وبدأت القصة في الثامن من نوفمبر الجاري داخل مدرسة تقع في منطقة ساتيفالي بمدينة فاساي، حيث أكدت أسرة الطفلة أن معلمة الصف طبّقت عقاباً «لا إنسانياً» عبر إلزامها بأداء تمرين القرفصاء 100 مرة بينما تحمل حقيبة مدرسية ثقيلة على ظهرها، الأمر الذي تسبب لها فوراً في آلام شديدة في الظهر والرقبة وعدم قدرتها على الوقوف.

وتدهورت حالة الطفلة بسرعة خلال الأيام التالية، قبل أن تعلن الجهات الطبية في مومباي وفاتها مساء الجمعة، رغم محاولات مستمرة لإنقاذها.

وكشف أعضاء في حزب ماهاراشترا نرفان سينا أن الطفلة كانت ضمن 5 طلاب خضعوا للعقاب نفسه بسبب التأخر عن الطابور الصباحي، مؤكدين أن الضغط البدني الشديد كان قاتلاً، خصوصاً أنها كانت تعاني مسبقاً من مشكلات صحية، ما اعتبروه «إهمالاً جسيماً» من المدرسة والمعلمة.

في المقابل، قال المعلم ساشين مور إن العدد الدقيق لمرات القرفصاء التي أدتها الطفلة غير محسوم، مشدداً على ضرورة انتظار التقرير الطبي لتحديد ما إذا كان العقاب هو السبب المباشر للوفاة. كما أوضح مسؤول التعليم باندرانغ غالانغي أن السلطات فتحت تحقيقاً رسمياً لتحديد المسؤوليات.

من جهتها، أكدت والدة الطفلة أنها واجهت المعلمة بعد تدهور صحة ابنتها، إلا أن الأخيرة برّرت تصرفها بأن الأهالي يطالبون المعلمين دائماً بالصرامة، وهو ما يدفعهم إلى فرض عقوبات قاسية على الطلاب، معتبرة أن ما حدث كان نتيجة «إفراط غير مبرر في العقاب».

ولا تزال التحقيقات الطبية والإدارية جارية لتحديد ملابسات حادثة الوفاة بدقة، وسط مطالبات مجتمعية بمحاسبة كل من يثبت تورطه، ووضع ضوابط أكثر صرامة للعقوبات المدرسية.

A disciplinary incident at a private school in Maharashtra, India, turned into a horrific tragedy after a sixth-grade student passed away due to a deterioration in her health after being forced to repeat squats 100 times for arriving late to class, an event that sparked widespread outrage and prompted authorities to launch an urgent investigation.

The story began on November 8th at a school located in the Sativali area of Vasai, where the child's family confirmed that the class teacher imposed an "inhumane" punishment by requiring her to perform 100 squats while carrying a heavy school bag on her back, which immediately caused her severe pain in her back and neck and left her unable to stand.

The child's condition rapidly deteriorated over the following days, before medical authorities in Mumbai announced her death on Friday evening, despite ongoing attempts to save her.

Members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena revealed that the child was among 5 students who faced the same punishment for being late to the morning assembly, asserting that the extreme physical pressure was fatal, especially since she had previously suffered from health issues, which they considered a "serious neglect" by the school and the teacher.

In contrast, teacher Sachin Mor stated that the exact number of squats the child performed is not confirmed, emphasizing the need to wait for the medical report to determine whether the punishment was the direct cause of death. Education official Bandrang Galangi also clarified that authorities have opened a formal investigation to establish accountability.

For her part, the child's mother confirmed that she confronted the teacher after her daughter's health deteriorated, but the latter justified her actions by stating that parents always demand strictness from teachers, which leads them to impose harsh punishments on students, considering that what happened was a result of "unjustified excessive punishment."

Medical and administrative investigations are still ongoing to accurately determine the circumstances surrounding the death, amid community demands for accountability for anyone found to be involved, and for stricter regulations on school punishments.
