المصدر 7 - أعلنت الشرطة العراقية في بغداد عن كشف واقعة اختطاف «مفبركة»، إذ اعترف متهم بعد القبض عليه بأنه ادعى تعرضه للخطف بهدف ابتزاز أسرته وزوجته للحصول على فدية مالية.
وتبين من التحقيقات أن المتهم اختفى عمداً من مكان عمله بمساعدة شريك له، ثم انتقل إلى محافظة ديالى حيث باشر اتصالاته بأسرته مدعياً أنه محتجز لدى جماعة مسلحة، وطالب أسرته بدفع مبلغ 350 مليون دينار (ما يعادل 240 ألف دولار أمريكي) مقابل الإفراج عنه.
وبينما كان المتهم يواصل اتصالاته المزعومة على مدى عدة أيام، كانت أجهزة الأمن الوطني تتعقب تحركاته بدقة، وبعد عمليات مراقبة مكثفة، تمكّنت القوات الأمنية من تحديد مكان اختبائه واعتقاله دون مقاومة.
وأكدت الجهات المختصة أن الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة ستتخذ بحق المتهم بعد ثبوت تلفيق واقعة الاختطاف بهدف الابتزاز المالي.
The Iraqi police in Baghdad announced the uncovering of a "fabricated" kidnapping incident, as a suspect confessed after being arrested that he had claimed to be kidnapped in order to extort money from his family and wife.
Investigations revealed that the suspect deliberately disappeared from his workplace with the help of an accomplice, then moved to Diyala province where he began contacting his family, claiming he was being held by an armed group, and demanded that his family pay 350 million dinars (equivalent to 240,000 US dollars) for his release.
While the suspect continued his alleged communications over several days, national security forces were closely tracking his movements. After intensive surveillance operations, security forces were able to locate his hiding place and arrest him without resistance.
The relevant authorities confirmed that the necessary legal actions will be taken against the suspect after it was proven that he fabricated the kidnapping incident for financial extortion.
